An Inner Battle

You hear those quotes about the girl who shelters her pain. You know, the girl who is a very intense being with a strong core, but you do not know how weak she is inside. She is that girl who always tries to shine with positivity and hope, even though privately she is bleeding. The girl who will try to make your day, even if she can’t make her own. You have heard the sayings of a girl like this a million times. Cheesy? Perhaps. But probably true. We all have our demons. We all have our own struggles. We all have our pain.

So this is it. It’s been a hard day for you. No one understands your inner struggle today. It’s now time to work out. Do you feel like doing it? Of course not. That is just work. Don’t you work enough? You work so hard to improve yourself every day and now you’re tired. Today, nothing feels worth it. The gym is just more work. It’s time to go give more of myself into something.

Don’t you feel like you’re always giving yourself to something or someone? And you get nothing back? Aren’t you tired of trying?

That is when you need to escape. The gym seems like work, but it is actually is a paradise. You are probably tired and you are probably starving. You probably have had a bad day and do not feel like giving anything else to anymore. Now it’s time to let your mind and heart take complete control of your body. Put your music on and engage in improving yourself. Even second you keep going is a second your body improves. You are not only exercising your body but you are strengthening your mind.

Strength does not come from achieving goals, strength is born when you are fighting to get there. Even though the gym sometimes feels like work, it is your time. In exercise it doesn’t matter the brand your wear, how your hair looks, or if your make up is perfect. The gym is your battlefield and beauty is measured by what you give. The sweat is your fashion. Your heartbeat is cosmetics. Your reps are your labels. In the gym, it doesn’t matter who you are, how your hair and make-up look,  or what you do for a living. It is all about what you can give, how you can push and how you can improve yourself.

Take today’s battles and fight them in the gym. Show today that you will never give up.
